Remuneration OptionsAre we commission-hungry vultures? Emphatically NO. Then how are we paid for the work we do? Fixed Fees - We can be remunerated by a client purely paying fees for the amount of hours work that we carry out on their behalf. The fees would be agreed after the initial consultation and a fee agreement would be signed by both the client and ourselves. Should an occasion arise where additional, unforeseen work is needed to complete the task in hand, the client would be advised of the extra cost and if acceptable; a further fee agreement will be signed to address the additional work. Under normal circumstances we would not expect additional fees to be incurred, however the rare exception can occur and we believe that it is better if you are informed of the procedure beforehand. Our current fee structure is shown in our Key Facts Guide. Retainer Packages - Our clients can also opt for retaining our services for regular monthly or annual costs. Any work then carried out on behalf of the client can then be part funded by the retainer amount and (assuming paying fees) the balance paid for through the “fee agreement” described above. We offer three service packages through the flexible retainer agreement arrangement, these being Platinum, Gold and Silver. Simply select which one provides the level of involvement from ourselves that you require. Alternatively we are perfectly happy to put together a “bespoke” package to suit your needs. Fees & Commissions - Some clients prefer to reduce the “up front” cost of fees by opting to pay the agreed fee amount by way of offsetting against commission payable. Not only does this serve to protect client cash flow it also has the advantage of not attracting VAT, as commission payments for financial advice is VAT exempt. Commission Only - For those clients that want no “up front” costs whatsoever then the commission only route allows for the providers of financial products to pay us commission for placing your business with them. Commission payable is always disclosed prior to a client making a commitment to purchasing or investing in any product. Equally, clients should be aware that where they require our advice only and no purchase of a product takes place, then the commission option would not be possible and that a Retainer Package or the Fixed Fee option would need to be selected. Total flexibility has been achieved, allowing the client to pay for our professional services in a manner that best suits their pocket/cash flow. Needless to say, we constantly review our offerings to ensure that they continue to offer maximum flexibility and value.
